In the beginning, there was nothing. Then came cake. And almond paste. The almond paste covers the cake to make the surface more smooth and symmetrical. Unfortunately, the process of draping the rolled out almond paste over the cake isn't easy. That's okay, we only had to do it three times. And another three with the fondant.
